Job: Oracle Developer

We are seeking an experienced Oracle Developer to support our enterprise clients in building, maintaining, and optimizing robust database solutions within high-volume transactional systems.

Job Family: Financial Systems/Database Development/Core Applications

Minimum Experience:
5+ years Oracle PL/SQL development experience

Strong understanding of relational databases and data modelling principles

Experience working in enterprise-grade, high-transaction environments.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field

Oracle certifications are advantageous.

Contract Type:
Permanent or Fixed – Term


Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities may vary depending on the engagement but typically include:

  • Designing and developing complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and triggers
  • Supporting application teams with SQL query optimisation and performance tuning
  • Creating and maintaining database objects (tables, indexes, views, synonyms)
  • Collaborating with business analysts to interpret functional requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
  • Performing impact analysis and assisting with production support and incident resolution
  • Supporting ETL processes, data integration, and batch job execution
  • Implementing and enforcing data quality, security, and compliance controls
  • Producing technical documentation and supporting handover to support teams.

Qualifications and Competencies

  • Expertise in Oracle Database (preferably versions 12c, 19c, or higher)
  • Proficiency in PL/SQL development, debugging, and performance tuning.
  • Solid understanding of indexing, partitioning, and query execution plans
  • Experience with Oracle performance tools (e.g. AWR, SQL Trace, TKProf)
  • Knowledge of Unix/Linux shell scripting for job automation
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and source control tools (e.g. Git, Bitbucket)
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in financial services or other regulated industries is advantageous.
