Minimum Experience:

Second Year University Mathematics and Economics OR Third Year Business

Qualifications:

Mathematics/Business/Economics Degree

Contract Type:
12-month contract, full-time role based in Johannesburg.


Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities differ across client engagements but may include:

  • Design and build solutions that enable the administration of Insurance and Investment products using the FIS PAS application formerly known as Compass.
  • Understand user product requirements and build compass system solutions that enable the requirements in an efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management.
  • Facilitates/participates in design sessions.
  • Training of users and troubleshooting any issues that arise.
  • Investigate system problems and correct them.
  • Creating functional and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical support to business users.
  • Review test plans and the test book for each project release before User Acceptance Testing.
  • Conduct systems testing to ensure that the design was aligned and designed according to the technology business requirement specifications.
  • Provide support for system testing.
  • Document solution designs and communicate the designs effectively to users and other developers/compass specialists.

Competencies

  • Good understanding of insurance risk & investment products.
  • Understanding of relational database design principles.
  • Intermediate capability in Oracle SQL
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
  • Goal-oriented, Critical thinking and excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to balance efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Understanding of Agile delivery principles
